FedEx has announced a partnership with BigCommerce that will give merchants an option to subscribe to a premium delivery service at a reasonable price, according to the global delivery leader.
FedEx says new subscribers will be eligible for two months’ worth of free services from BigCommerce.
BigCommerce merchants will receive easier access to and discounts on FedEx Express services. They will also be able to access FedEx’s e-commerce solutions.
These include FedEx Electronic Trade Documents; simple return solutions; and the FedEx Hold-at-Location services, which gives BigCommerce merchants the choice to have their packages delivered to grocery stores, pharmacies, and FedEx offices.
“The collaboration with BigCommerce is yet another milestone for FedEx as we continue strengthening our capabilities within the e-commerce ecosystem to best serve businesses in this region,” Kawal Preet, President of the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions (AMEA) at FedEx Express says.
“With e-commerce being a key driver of global trade in the post-pandemic world, a level playing field has potential to support resource-tight SMEs to compete on a global scale,” Kawal adds.
“That’s why alliances such as these are so critical for SMEs to strengthen their delivery capabilities and meet their customers’ heightened expectations while expanding their footprint overseas.”
FedEx says the alliance between itself and BigCommerce comes as e-commerce in the AMEA regions “skyrockets” due to pandemic-driven growth. It reports in Asia Pacific alone, e-commerce sales are tipped to almost double by 2025, totalling $2 trillion.

Merchants are being pressured to deliver products quickly and cheaply to customers worldwide as e-commerce sales rapidly grow. A BigCommerce survey reveals 77 per cent of customers would consider not purchasing an online order if shipping options were limited.
